In Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV2030), more emphasis is being placed on generating revenue from the non-oil and gas sectors of Qatar. What impact will this have on future business opportunities for the Alfardan Group?
Alfardan Group has always been committed to supporting the initiatives of the government and is dedicated to developing business strategies that complement the wise leadership of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. QNV2030 is one such example. It increasingly emphasizes the importance of cultivating the non-hydrocarbon sector to achieve a more diversified post-oil economy. As one of the oldest businesses in the country, much of our success is driven by our ability to adapt to growing trends within the local business landscape and to participate in the creation of new markets. From our humble beginnings in the pearling industry, which led to the establishment of Alfardan Jewellery, we have expanded to become the premier choice in various industry verticals including the automotive, jewellery, exchange, property development, and hospitality industries, as well as marine services and investment markets. Diversification has always defined Alfardan Group as we continue to expand into new fields and create new benchmarks of excellence in that arena.
How is Alfardan Properties integrating smart property developments and solutions in order to advance Doha as a smart city?
Alfardan Properties has always been eager to adopt emerging technologies that enhance services and promote the safety, security, and overall well-being of tenants. We aim to transform and exceed our clients' expectations, as well as support the initiatives of the government to turn Doha into a major smart city. We continuously look for ways to utilize sophisticated technology to enhance our facilities based on our customers' unique needs and tastes. We are proud to say our dedication has borne fruit, as Alfardan Properties was named Smart Property Developer of the Year at the fourth Arab Future Cities Summit Qatar, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. At the summit, we had a representative speak about Smart Living Solutions, to share our own experience in delivering comprehensive solutions and services as well as the tools and platforms that we utilize to remain effective while meeting our sustainability goals in support of the key indicators set by QNV2030.
Marking 20 years since the establishment of Alfardan's Automotive Operations division, how has this segment expanded over its many years in this market?
Alfardan Group Automotive Operations was established in 1996 as part of the group's efforts to diversify its portfolio and in recognition of the growing demand for quality and luxury automotive dealers and service centers. We set ourselves apart in the market by providing unparalleled after-sales customer care and by aligning with iconic brands in the automotive industry. As a result, we have had many pioneering business strategies over the years. In fact, Alfardan Automobiles became Qatar's official importer of BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce cars, and distinguished itself with its state-of-the-art showrooms, fully staffed with skilled personnel. Alfardan Sports Motors continued to reinforce this luxury brand image, becoming the importer of two of the most coveted brands, Ferrari and Maserati. Alfardan Premier Motors, on the other hand, became the official importer for Jaguar and Land Rover, while Alfardan Motorcycles began to offer notable brands such as BMW Motorrad, Ducati, Triumph, and more. Following these achievements, Prestige Cars was established to address the need for luxury leasing and limousine rental services. Thus, in our unwavering commitment to quality and customer service, we became the preferred exclusive distributors of global luxury brands in Qatar. During recent years, we moved to establish two companies under our Automotive Operations Division. Both Auto Future Tech, the official distributor of Castrol lubricants and Continental tires, and ARACO, one of Qatar's leading providers of earth-moving machinery, have been successfully providing exceptional services with far-reaching benefits in keeping with our legacy and commitment to excellence and quality. Moreover, to sustain our achievements in this sector and further widen our reach in the region, we launched Alfardan Motors in Oman, the exclusive distributor of Ferrari, Maserati, and luxury motorcycle brands.
With a corporate vision to be a regional leader, what is Alfardan's footprint in the region outside of Qatar?
The success of Alfardan Group is largely founded on our refusal to compromise on providing quality products and services. Thus, we provide the same standards of value-added options to customers outside the country to showcase what Qatar can offer. Accordingly, we have several projects in the pipeline in Oman under Alfardan Properties and Alfardan Motors that will further bolster our position in the Middle East market. The group also continues to make its name synonymous with luxury and fine taste in the field of real estate with the Fina'a Alazaibah complex in Oman, the Group's first property development project outside Qatar. In addition, we have several strategically placed Alfardan Jewellery branches across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to address the growing demand within the country. In Saudi Arabia, we have embarked on large-scale property development ventures, with the commercial tower Burj Alfardan in Al Khobar as one of our major projects. Expanding our presence in Turkey also forms part of our strategy to bring Alfardan's signature luxury brand to the next phase of unprecedented regional and global growth.
Are there any particular sectors in which Alfardan is looking to expand into or initiate development, either within Qatar or internationally?
Alfardan Group thrives to expand and innovate within the various sectors it operates in, both in the region and beyond. In addition, Alfardan Trading Limited and Alfardan Holding are also operating in foreign markets with many strategic interests in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Turkey. We have many projects on the horizon and are eager to bring our luxury brand and quality products and services to a wider network, while remaining true to our heritage and values. Our first project outside of Qatar, Fina'a Alazaibah in Oman, has received strong and positive feedback and fueled our relentless drive to constantly diversify our business and expand interests in key industries and markets. In addition to this, we continue to strengthen our hold on various markets in Qatar, and with the country's winning bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, this will only serve to attract more foreign investors to the country.
What are some of your main targets for the company over the next 12 months?
In the coming months as well as in the following years, we will continuously espouse our values of premium quality products and services to our rapidly expanding markets in various industries. We will maintain the spirit of innovation that has brought us our success and will look to venture into new markets in an effort to engage with new buyers from various demographics. We will also continue to actively participate in helping the country meet its environmental and sustainable needs by creating new products to that end. Our support for the government's long-term socio-economic programs and the vision of our wise leaders remains unwavering. We will demonstrate this commitment by steadily pursuing the best practices in the local, regional, and global landscapes to help sustain the flourishing economy of Qatar.
